Year 10 Trading Day
On Thursday 8 March, a group of Year 10 students accompanied by Mr Grace and Mrs Isssifu visited CMS Cameron McKenna.
CMS is the leading provider of tax and legal services. It has 13 offices in the UK and Europe. We were introduced to a group of professional city workers including: lawyers, bankers and solicitors.
We interviewed them and found out about their job roles and what skills are needed to work in the city. After our laid on lunch we went to another company named Black Rock. Black Rock is a multi-national investment company. They are the largest investment company in the world. We had great fun there, we experienced being interviewed by 6 different professionals, including the HR department, investment managers, solicitors and professionals from different backgrounds. We all had feedback on how to improve our interview skills.

Later in the afternoon we had even more fun when we took part in a competitive game which introduced us to the stock market. We were given £20,000 to invest in the market and at the end of the day the best team made £60,000.
Overall it was an amazing experience. We all believe that it was one of the best trips we have ever been on. We learned a lot from it, such as what it takes to be a professional in the city.
