Conisborough vs Eton College
Back in September, Conisborough College travelled to Windsor with the Year 9 and 10 Football teams to play our first match against one of England’s best known schools, Eton College.
It was a sunny afternoon as we travelled to Windsor in Berkshire. The students were very impressed with Eton’s fantastic sports grounds, but they certainly didn’t let Eton’s successful reputation dimish their performance.

It was a sunny afternoon as we travelled to Windsor in Berkshire. The students were very impressed with Eton’s fantastic sports grounds, but they certainly didn’t let Eton’s successful reputation dimish their performance.
The Yaer 9 players had a very intense match and were winning with 5 minutes to go, when a very good, long kick to goal Eton meant the final score was 4-4.
The Year 10 students were on brilliant form that day and the result was 7-1 to Conisborough College, which was a fantastic victory, but not suprising, considering the boys talents and skills.
This, of course, meant that we left Eton College undefeated. We are in talks with Eton to arrange a re-match for 2011 along with Marlborough College.
“It was a fantastic fixture, as it gave our boys the opportunity to see a much higher level of Football and what they should aspire to. I am delighted to hear that you found it productive as well. I hope that we are able to welcome you back in 2011 as there is much to be gained from this fixture.” – Master in charge of Football at Eton
