Give & Gain is the UK’s largest day of employee volunteering. Last year, 6,803 employee volunteers from 221 companies injected 1 million man-hours into communities of greatest need by volunteering with over 190 community organisations across the UK.
Give & Gain is organised annually by Business in the Community (BITC), one of the Prince’s charities, who work with businesses on their corporate sustainability initiatives. This year’s focus of Give & Gain Day was Careers and Employability and Lloyd’s Bank volunteers ran a series of workshops around this theme.
These workshops included Communication Skills, a Finance Game, Advertising a Product, Profile setting and Negotiating Skills.
Many of the volunteers described their experience at the school, and our students, as outstanding. One volunteer said:
“After today I have a whole new respect for what teachers do in schools”.
One of the Year 10 students involved said:
“it was a brilliant and useful day”
We would like to thank ‘Business in the community’ and Lloyds Bank for putting on these wonderful workshops. It was an invaluable day for our students.
