Slide1During this term, the Parent Council Steering Committee took 49 new Year 7, 8 and 9 students and parents to Littlehampton for a fun day out with games and a big shared lunch.

Saturday 25 June was hot and sunny as we travelled to Littlehampton by coach.  My Mum and Dad, who are members of the Parent Council, came along with my sister, Lisa and brother-in-law, Sam and some of my teachers.  We had such a good time on the coach, playing games like bingo, that the travelling time went very quickly.

Slide2We arrived before lunch time and had some free time with our families.  Mum and Lisa, went shopping and my Dad, Sam and I went to see the soldier’s parade.  I have a keen interest in soldiers and found the parade very interesting.

The soldiers were using their guns to demonstrate how they were used in combat.  We also observed infantry guns being fired. The noise was very loud and made me jump.

Slide3There were market stalls with all sorts of military items and I bought a book on ‘survival in the wild’ and found it very interesting.  We all then met back at the coach, where we enjoyed a big shared lunch on the grass.

After lunch we all played games and it was like a mini Olympics!  The games included egg & spoon racing, which I won, sack racing and one with hula hoops.

Slide4The day was passing very quickly, so some friends and I went to the beach to have a paddle in the sea and cool ourselves down before we had to get back on the coach and go home.

During our journey home there were a few raffle draws and my Mum won some wine and I won a ruler.  We arrived home at 7pm, we were all very tired and I noticed I had sun burn on my face, but my Dad’s face was really red, like a tomato.

I really enjoyed my day out to the seaside with my family and friends.
